Details:
On or about Saturday, January 16th, 2021, around 1:30 in the afternoon, an accident between two tractor-trailers left two people injured. Representatives from the MSHP said the accident happened on the westbound side of Interstate 44 near State Highway 97 in Lawrence County, Missouri.
Deputies from the County Sheriff’s Office said two people were injured when a tractor-trailer allegedly collided with an 18-wheeler that was parked on the side of the interstate. Both drivers sustained injuries of an unknown nature or severity in the accident. Authorities did not mention any other vehicles in their preliminary report.
Interstate 44 runs east and west through the center of Howard County, which is located about 35 miles west of Springfield.
Missouri State Highway Patrol is still investigating the incident.
