Details:
On or about Friday, April 1st, 2022, around 5:50 at night, an accident between a passenger vehicle and a tractor-trailer left an 86-year-old woman dead and sent another person to the hospital. Troopers from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along Highway 84 just outside Prairie Hill in Limestone County, Texas.
Representatives from the Texas DPS said 86-year-old Irene Torres was killed and the driver of a car were injured when their vehicle was allegedly hit by a tractor-trailer while they were attempting a U-turn on Highway 84. Emergency responders pronounced Torres dead a short time after the accident, while the driver was taken to the hospital with injuries of an unspecified nature or severity.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance west of Prairie Hill.
Officials are still investigating the accident.
