Details:
On or about Wednesday, May 11th, 2022, around 10:40 in the morning, an accident with a suspected drunk driver left a 78-year-old woman dead. Deputies from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported along Viva Max Drive in San Antonio, Texas.
Spokespeople from the San Antonio Police Department said 78-year-old Irma Lozano was killed when she was allegedly hit by a vehicle that drove off the side of Viva Max Drive while Lozano was walking her dog on the sidewalk. After the initial impact with Lozano, the vehicle continued onward and hit a tree. Emergency responders pronounced Lozano dead of her injuries a short time after the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the incident is not far from the intersection with Oak Hill Road in northwest San Antonio.
Officials have said they believe the drive of the vehicle may have been intoxicated at the time of the accident.
Authorities are still investigating.
