Details:
On or about Sunday, April 24th, 2022, around 4:00 in the afternoon, an accident with an alleged drunk driver running from police left one man dead. Officials from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along FM 706 in Angelina County, Texas.
Troopers from the Texas DPS said 53-year-old Isidro Rodriguez was killed when the pickup truck he was driving was allegedly struck by an SUV driven by a suspected drunk driver, who may have been attempting to flee a traffic stop at the time of the accident. Rodriguez was pronounced dead of his injuries a short time after the accident.
Police have since identified the driver of the SUV as Dalton Lilley, who currently faces charges of intoxication manslaughter in connection with the crash.
Multiple agencies responded to the scene to assist.
