On or about Friday, March 4th, 2022, around 4:00 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a box truck left a 43-year-old man and a 34-year-old man dead. Spokespeople from the Arkansas State Police said the accident was reported along Interstate 30 in Rockport, Arkansas.
Investigators said 43-year-old Ismail Kiberu and 34-year-old Felix Carillo-Guzman were killed when Kiberu’s box truck allegedly crossed over the center line of Interstate 30 and struck Carillo-Guzman’s tractor-trailer in the lanes of oncoming traffic. Emergency responders pronounced Kiberu and Carillo-Guzman dead of their injuries at the scene of the collision.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 30 cuts east and west through Rockport.
State and local law enforcement agencies assisted after the accident.
