On or about Monday, August 16th, 2021, around 10:30 in the morning, an accident between a pickup truck and a tractor-trailer claimed the life of a 20-year-old Louisa man. Troopers from the KSP said the accident occurred along State Highway 2061 in Pike County, Kentucky.

Kentucky State Police said 20-year-old Jacob Fitch was killed when the pickup truck he was driving allegedly suffered a tire blowout and skidded into the path of an oncoming tractor-trailer. Emergency responders pronounced Fitch dead of his injuries when they arrived at the scene. Paramedics transported the driver of the tractor-trailer to Pikeville Medical Center with unspecified injuries after the accident.

According to Google Maps, State Highway 2061 cuts north and south through Pike County, which is about 144 miles southeast of Lexington.

Police are still investigating the incident.
