Details:
On or about Thursday, November 25th, 2021, around 5:00 in the morning, a major accident between a passenger vehicle and a tractor-trailer claimed the life of a 26-year-old man. Deputies from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Department said the accident was reported at the intersection of Loop 1604 and Applewhite Road in San Antonio, Texas.
Police officers from the SAPD said 26-year-old Jacob Rivera was killed when the Mitsubishi passenger vehicle he was driving allegedly crossed over the center line of Loop 1604 at Applewhite Road when it struck a tractor-trailer head-on in the oncoming lanes. Emergency responders pronounced Rivera dead of his injuries a short time after the accident. Paramedics transported the driver of the tractor-trailer to a nearby hospital with injuries of an unknown nature or severity.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of Loop 1604 and Applewhite Road is situated on the south side of San Antonio.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the incident.
