On or about Thursday, December 2nd, 2021, a major accident between a passenger vehicle and a tractor-trailer left an 11-year-old girl dead and sent two women to the hospital. Representatives from the CSP said the accident was reported along Interstate 84 in Vernon, Connecticut.
Troopers from the Connecticut State Police said 11-year-old Jaidyn Miley Bolduc was killed, while Kayla Thompson and June Stewart were injured when the car they were in and a tractor-trailer collided under unknown conditions on I-84. Emergency responders pronounced Bolduc dead of her injuries after the collision, while Stewart and Thompson were taken to the hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 84 cuts east and west through the center of Vernon.
Officials are still working to pin down the cause of the collision.
