Jaylon Kurt Harrison Killed in Truck Accident on I-10 near Vidor

On or about Tuesday, October 20th, 2020, around 5:50 in the morning, an accident between a truck towing a car hauler and a pickup truck left a 21-year-old man from Louisiana dead and sent two others to the hospital. The accident took place in the westbound lanes of Interstate 10 near Doty Road just outside Vidor, Texas.

Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers said that 21-year-old Broussard, Louisiana resident Jalon Kurt Harrison was killed when the Chevrolet pickup he was in collided with the towed portion of a car hauler that was allegedly sticking out in the westbound lanes of I-10 from the shoulder. Harrison was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Police identified the driver of the Chevrolet pickup as 46-year-old Richard Thibeaux, while the driver of the truck towing the car hauler was identified as 57-year-ol Jose Soriano. Both Soriano and Thibeaux were taken to the hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.

Authorities indicated that conditions were foggy at the time of the crash.

Google Maps shows that Vidor is located about 10 miles northeast of Beaumont.

Deputies from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office assisted DPS Troopers at the scene of the accident, which is still under investigation.
