On or about Saturday, January 1st, 2022, around 2:30 in the morning, an accident between an alleged drunk driver and a pedestrian sent a 25-year-old woman to the hospital. Authorities from the DPD said the accident was reported at the intersection of Inwood Road and Galleria Drive in Dallas, Texas.
Law enforcement spokespeople from the area said 25-year-old Jameka Brown was injured when she was allegedly hit by a vehicle that hopped the curb as she was tending to the scene of a previous accident. Emergency responders rushed Brown to the hospital with serious injuries stemming from the accident. Police identified the driver of the vehicle as 32-year-old Louis Jerel Ellis, who currently faces charges of intoxication assault in connection with the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is about 12 miles north of downtown Dallas.
Police are still investigating the incident.
