On or about Sunday, June 20th, 2021, around 10:30 at night, an accident between a pickup truck and a disabled tractor-trailer claimed the life of a 58-year-old North Dakota resident. Department of Public Safety Officials said the accident was reported along Highway 78 just outside Tahoka in Lynn County, Texas.

Texas DPS representatives said 58-year-old James Dean Levasseur was killed when his pickup truck allegedly slammed into the back of a disabled tractor-trailer. Emergency responders pronounced Levasseur dead of his injuries a short time after they responded to the scene of the accident. Police did not not mention any other injuries stemming from the accident.

According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is about five miles south of Tahoka, which is situated roughly 31 miles south of Lubbock.

Police are still investigating the accident.
