On or about Monday, September 13th, 2021, around 6:40 in the evening, an accident between an 18-wheeler and a tractor-trailer claimed the life of a 50-year-old Caldwell man. Officials from the OSP said the accident occurred along Interstate 84 in Baker City, Oregon.
Officials from the Oregon State Police said 50-year-old James Green was killed when his tractor-trailer was allegedly struck by tires that had fallen from another 18-wheeler. Paramedics pronounced Green dead of his injuries a short time after the accident. Police identified the driver of the other 18-wheeler as Hassan Ibrahim, who was unhurt in the accident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 84 runs north and south along the eastern edge of Baker City, which is about 243 miles east of downtown Portland.
Multiple agencies are assisting in the accident investigation.
