On or about Wednesday, October 28th, 2020, around 8:18 in the evening, a single-vehicle tractor-trailer claimed the life of a 61-year-old man. Authorities said that the accident took place in the northbound lanes of Interstate 555 near Gilmore, Arkansas.
Investigators said that 61-year-old James Hunt Neely was killed when the tractor-trailer he was riding in veered out of the northbound lanes and rolled in the median. Neely succumbed to his injuries a short time after the accident. Police identified the driver of the truck as Mitchell Green, who suffered unspecified injuries.
Google Maps shows that Interstate 555 is four lanes, with a wide grassy median dividing the north and southbound lanes of traffic. Gilmore is situated about 43 miles southeast of Jonesoboro.
