On or about Wednesday, October 27th, 2021, around 7:10 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and an 18-wheeler claimed the life of a 52-year-old La Grange Park, Illinois woman. Troopers from the ISP said the accident occurred on the westbound side of Interstate 80 in Cedar County, Iowa.
Authorities said 52-year-old Jan Bisek was killed when the tractor-trailer she was driving allegedly struck the back of an 18-wheeler that had just pulled off the shoulder and was getting up to speed in the westbound lanes of I-80. Emergency responders pronounced Bisek dead of her injuries following the accident. Officials identified the driver of the other tractor-trailer as Reynold Madara, who was unhurt in the crash.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 80 runs east and west along the southern edge of Cedar County, which is about 45 miles northwest of Davenport.
State and local law enforcement assisted at the scene of the accident.
