Details:
On or about Thursday, July 8th, 2021, around 8:30 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a cyclist claimed the life of one woman. Investigators said the accident was reported at the intersection of 400 North and Route 126 in Marriott-Slaterville, Utah.
Troopers from the Utah State Police said Jana Lee Taylor Wangsgard was killed when she was allegedly hit by a tractor-trailer that was turning at the intersection of 400 North and Route 126. Emergency responders pronounced Wangsgard dead a short time after the accident, but it is not currently clear if she died at the scene or succumbed to her injuries after being rushed to a nearby hospital.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of 400 North and Route 126 is situated near the heart of Marriott-Slaterville, which is about 37 miles north of downtown Salt Lake City.
Police are still examining the circumstances that may have contributed to the accident.
