On or about Tuesday, October 12th, 2021, around 5:30 in the morning, an accident between a pickup truck and two tractor-trailers left a 36-year-old Fort Worth woman dead and two other people injured. Deputies from the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported on the southbound side of Interstate 35 near the exchange with Hesters Crossing in Round Rock, Texas.

Troopers from the Texas Department of Public Safety said 36-year-old Janette Gaither was killed and two other people were hurt when a pickup truck, a tractor-trailer and a semi truck collided under unspecified circumstances while driving southbound on I-35. Paramedics pronounced Gaither dead of her injuries a short time after they arrived at the scene of the accident. Two other people were taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries. Police did not indicate which vehicle Gaither and the two other victims were in at the time of the collision.

According to Google Maps, Interstate 35 runs north and south through the center of Round Rock, which is about 20 miles north of downtown Austin.

State and local law enforcement agencies assisted at the scene.
