On or about Tuesday, January 19th, 2021, around 1:15 in the afternoon, a dump truck rollover accident claimed the life of one man. Investigators said the accident happened at Geneva Rock on Minutemen Drive in Draper, Utah.
Troopers from the Utah State Police said Jared Payne was killed when his dump truck allegedly rolled down an embankment when the ground beneath may have given way. Payne died of his injuries a short time after the accident. Police did not mention any other injuries in their preliminary report.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident happened just south of Salt Lake City.
Multiple agencies are currently investigating the accident.
