Details:
On or about Thursday, December 30th, 2021, around 8:15 at night, a hit-and-run accident between a pedestrian and an SUV left one man dead. Authorities from the area said the accident was reported along Interstate 45 in Ferris, Texas.
Police said Jaron McClendon was killed when he was allegedly struck by a Cadillac Escalade SUV driven by Jorge Garcia as McClendon was walking alongside or made an attempt to cross Interstate 45. Emergency responders rushed McClendon to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries several days after his arrival.
Authorities have since arrested Jorge Garcia in connection with the accident.
Multiple agencies assisted in the investigation.
