Details:
On or about Saturday, February 26th, 2022, a major accident between a pedestrian and a tractor-trailer claimed the life of a West Memphis firefighter. Spokespeople from the ASP said the accident was reported on an unspecified roadway in or just outside Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
Arkansas State Police representatives said Jason Lang was killed when he was allegedly hit by a tractor-trailer while he was assisting at the scene of a previous accident. Emergency responders pronounced Lang dead of his injuries a short time after the accident, but it is not immediately clear if he died at the scene or after he was rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
According to Google Maps, Pine Bluff is about 44 miles south of downtown Little Rock.
Officials are still looking into the cause of the accident.
