On or about Saturday, September 4th, 2021, around 5:40 in the evening, a single-vehicle tractor-trailer accident left one person dead and sent another to the hospital. Troopers from the MSHP said the accident was reported along Interstate 44 in Crawford County, Missouri.
Officials from the Missouri State Highway Patrol said 31-year-old Jaswant Singh was killed, while 29-year-old Gurpreet Singh was injured when the tractor-trailer they were in allegedly veered off the side of Interstate 44 and rolled when it struck a barrier. Jaswant Singh was a passenger in the tractor-trailer, and died at the scene. The driver, Gurpreet Singh sustained unspecified injuries.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 44 runs east and west through Crawford County, which is about 82 miles southwest of St. Louis.
State and local law enforcement officials assisted at the scene of the accident.
