On or about Wednesday, October 14th, 2020, around 9:07 in the morning, an accident between a box truck and a parked car resulted in injuries for a 73-year-old woman. The accident took place in the 990 block of Northwest Circle Boulevard in Corvallis, Oregon.

Local police representatives said that 73-year-old Jeanne Bauer was hurt when a box truck driven by 57-year-old Douglas Ackland allegedly lost control and struck the parked car she was getting into. Authorities have reason to believe Ackland may have suffered from a sudden medical emergency and lost consciousness before the accident.

Bauer was treated for unspecified minor injuries after the crash, while Ackland was taken to Good Samaritan Medical Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Google Street Views show the parking lot where Bauer’s car was parked just a short distance off the side of the main roadway. Corvallis is located about 36 miles southwest of Salem.

Local law enforcement are still working to pin down the events leading to the accident.
