On or about Saturday, October 23rd, 2021, around 3:00 in the afternoon, a hit-and-run accident between a box truck and a pedestrian left a 42-year-old woman dead. Officers from the PPD said the accident was reported at or near the intersection of 59th Avenue and Palm Lane in Phoenix, Arizona.
Police said 42-year-old Jeannie Montoya was killed when she was allegedly hit by a box truck as she was walking along or made an attempt to cross the street at or near the intersection of 59th Avenue and Palm Lane. Paramedics pronounced Montoya dead of her injuries at the scene of the accident. The box truck did not stay at the scene following the incident.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of 59th Avenue and Palm Lane is situated on the northwest side of Phoenix.
Officers are still working to track down the box truck.
