On or about Tuesday, April 5th, 2022, sometime in the morning hours, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a rollback tow truck left a West Virginia man dead. Law enforcement representatives said the accident was reported along U.S. Highway 52 in Surry County, North Carolina.
Troopers from the North Carolina Highway Patrol said Jeff Vickers was killed when a tractor-trailer allegedly slammed into a rollback tow truck he was standing on as the tow truck was tending to a disabled vehicle on the side of the roadway. Vickers was pronounced dead of his injuries a short time after the collision.
