On or about Wednesday, March 10th, 2021, around 11:50 at night, an accident between a tractor-trailer and an SUV left a 53-year-old Cardington man dead. Troopers from the OSHP said the accident happened along Highway 20 near the intersection with Fitchville River Road in Wakeman Township, Ohio.

Police said 53-year-old Jerrold Emmons was killed when his Honda CRV allegedly failed to yield to a tractor-trailer that was traveling eastbound on Highway 20. Emmons was subsequently pronounced dead of his injuries when emergency responders arrived at the scene.

According to Google Maps, Wakeman Township is situated about 45 miles southwest of downtown Cleveland.

Deputies from the Huron County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene of the accident, which is still under investigation.
