Details:
On or about Monday, December 21st, 2020, around 3:00 in the afternoon, an accident between a car and a dump truck claimed the life of an 18-year-old driver. Authorities said the accident happened along Route 220 in Rocky Mount, Virginia.
Virginia State Troopers said 18-year-old Jesse Chance was killed when his car allegedly collided with a dump truck while attempting a U-turn on Route 220 at Route 40. Emergency responders pronounced Chance dead of his injuries at the scene of the collision. The driver of the dump truck was unhurt in the accident.
Google Maps shows Rocky Mount is located about 24 miles south of Roanoke.
Authorities expect to release the findings of their investigation at a later date.
