Details:
On or about Sunday, February 6th, 2022, around 3:00 in the morning, an accident with a hit-and-run driver claimed the life of an 18-year-old woman. Troopers from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along the East Freeway and Gregg Street in Houston, Texas.
Officers from the Houston Police Department said 18-year-old Jesslyn Zunigae was killed when the pickup truck she as in allegedly veered off the side of the East Freeway and slammed into a barrier a short distance off the roadway. Zunigae was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead of her injuries a short time after she was found at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck fled the scene on foot.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is on the northeast side of Houston.
Police are still investigating the accident.
