On or about Friday, December 31st, 2021, around 4:00 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a recreational vehicle left one man dead and sent ten other individuals to the hospital. Representatives from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along Interstate 10 just outside Fort Hancock in Hudspeth County, Texas.

Authorities from the Texas DPS said 36-year-old Jesus Eduardo Cabral was killed and ten other individuals were injured when a tractor-trailer allegedly crossed over the median of I-10 and slammed into their RV head-on. Emergency responders pronounced Jesus Eduardo Cabral dead a short time after the accident, while 4-year-old Ania Gallegos, 9-year-old Giselle Gallegos, 28-year-old Denisse Gallegos, 27-year-old Christian Ambriz, 40-year-old Lizhet Pacheco, 39-year-old Jose Manuel Ambriz, 51-year-old Monica Cabral and 59-year-old Eduardo Cabral were treated for various injuries stemming from the accident. Officials identified the driver of the tractor-trailer as 24-year-old Khushpal Singh, who was taken to University Medical Center with unspeciifed injuries.

According to Google Maps, Interstate 10 winds east and west through Fort Hancock, which is about 55 miles southeast of downtown El Paso.
