On or about Wednesday, January 26th, 2022, around 9:40 in the morning, a serious accident between a pickup truck and a tractor-trailer left a 66-year-old Shamrock man dead. Officials from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along Interstate 40 just outside Conway in Carson County, Texas.
Investigators said 66-year-old Jesus Garcia was killed when the pickup truck he was in allegedly veered over the center line of Interstate 40 when it was hit by a tractor-trailer in the oncoming lanes. Emergency responders pronounced Garcia dead of his injuries a short time after they responded to the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance from Conway, which is about 27 miles east of downtown Amarillo.
Police are still investigating.
