On or about Friday, June 4th, 2021, around 6:25 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a motorcycle left a 29-year-old man dead. Troopers from the KSP said the accident was reported at the intersection of Old Highway 40 and Donmyer Road in Saline County, Kansas.
Investigators said 29-year-old Jesus Martinez was killed when a tractor-trailer driven by Patrick Heer allegedly turned across traffic and into Martinez’ path when the vehicles collided. Martinez was pronounced dead of his injuries at the scene of the accident. No other injuries were mentioned in the initial police report.
Heer said he was blinded by the sun in his mirrors before the accident occurred.
According to Google Maps, Saline County is about 91 miles north of Wichita.
Police are investigating the accident.
