On or about Thursday, September 30th, 2021, around 3:50 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and an SUV left a 78-year-old man dead. Deputies from the Garland County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported along Highway 70 in Pearcy, Arkansas.

Officials from the ASP said 78-year-old Jimmy Barnard was killed when the Honda CRV he was in was allegedly struck by a tractor-trailer when he was allegedly turning out of a parking lot. Paramedics pronounced Barnard dead of his injuries a short time after the collision. Police did not mention any other injuries stemming from the accident.

According to Google Maps, Pearcy is situated about 70 miles southwest of Little Rock.

Police are still investigating.
