Details:
On or about Monday, May 16th, 2022, sometime in the early morning hours, a serious two-vehicle accident with a wrong-way driver left one person dead and sent two others to the hospital. Spokespeople from the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported along Parkway Drive in Lubbock, Texas.
Officers from the Lubbock Police Department said 29-year-old Jimmy Lopez was killed when the vehicle he was driving allegedly struck another car head-on while driving the wrong direction on Parkway Dr. Emergency responders pronounced Lopez dead of his injuries a short time after the collision, while two as-of-yet unidentified individuals in the other car were taken to the hospital with injuries of an unknown nature or severity.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is not far from the exchange with the Marsha Sharp Freeway.
Officials are still investigating.
