On or about Tuesday, March 16th, 2021, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a car claimed the life of a 62-year-old Greenbriar man. Troopers from the TSP said the accident was reported along U.S. Highway 31 in Portland, Tennessee.
Deputies from the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office said 62-year-old Joe Allen was killed when a tractor-trailer and a car collided under unspecified circumstances near the exchange with Highway 109. Paramedics pronounced Allen dead of his injuries a short time after the collision. Police did not mention any other injuries in their preliminary report.
According to Google Maps, Portland is located roughly 40 miles northeast of downtown Nashville.
Multiple agencies are examining the factors that may have contributed to the crash.
