Details:
On or about Tuesday, December 1st, 2020, around 2:48 in the afternoon, an accident between a pickup truck and a dump truck left one man dead, and injured four others. Authorities said the accident happened on Route 56 near Shellbark Road in East Wheatfield Township, Pennsylvania.
Police said a dump truck driven by 55-year-old Dale Rapp allegedly lost control in icy conditions when it struck a pickup truck. The driver of the pickup truck was identified as 58-year-old Joel Bundy, who died of his injuries at the scene. Rapp and three passengers in the pickup were treated for minor injuries after the crash.
Route 56 is three lanes, with two lanes running northbound, and a single southbound lane according to Google Streetview. Either side of the roadway is heavily wooded. East Wheatfield Township is located about 56 miles east of Pittsburgh.
Multiple agencies are still investigating the accident.
