John Chunn Jr. Killed in Tractor-Trailer Accident on Interstate 40 in Johnson County

On or about Sunday, January 23rd, 2022, around 11:59 in the morning, an accident between a passenger vehicle and a tractor-trailer left a 45-year-old Jacksonville man dead. Troopers from the ASP said the accident was reported along Interstate 40 in Johnson County, Arkansas.

Law enforcement officials said John Chunn Jr., was killed when a passenger vehicle allegedly veered off the side of the roadway and bounced off two barriers along the eastbound side of I-40 before it veered into the side of a tractor-trailer. Emergency responders rushed Chunn Jr to UAMS Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time after his arrival.

According to Google Maps, Interstate 40 runs east and west through Johnson County, which is about 113 miles northwest of downtown Little Rock.

Arkansas State Police assisted after the accident.
