On or about Monday, July 19th, 2021, an accident between a pedestrian and a tractor-trailer sent a 75-year-old man to the hospital. Deputies from the Houston County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported in a parking lot near the intersection of Highway 44 and First Avenue Northwest in Spring Grove, Minnesota.

Troopers from the Minnesota State Police said 75-year-old John William Connelly was injured when a tractor-trailer allegedly backed into him while the truck was backing out of a parking spot. Emergency responders rushed Connelly to Gundersen Health System-La Crosse with unspecified injuries stemming from the accident. Police did not mention any other injuries stemming from the accident.

According to Google Maps, the intersection of Highway 44 and First Avenue northwest is near the center of Spring Grove, which is about 153 miles south of Minneapolis.

Officers hope to release the findings of their investigation as soon as they become available.
