Details:
On or about Tuesday, January 12th, 2021, around 5:16 in the afternoon, an accident between a car and an 18-wheeler claimed the life of a 24-year-old Mississippi man. Department of Public Safety Troopers said the accident happened on Highway 349 just outside Midland, Texas.
Authorities from the area said 24-year-old John Lunn was killed when an 18-wheeler allegedly failed to yield while turning out of a private driveway and struck Lunn’s Nissan Altima. Paramedics pronounced Lunn dead of his injuries at the scene of the accident. Police did not mention any other injuries in their preliminary report.
Google Streetview shows Highway 349 is four lanes that run north and south through the area. The scene of the collision is about seven miles north of Midland.
Texas DPS and local police are still investigating the incident.
