On or about Saturday, August 28th, 2021, around 9:00 in the morning, a single vehicle accident with a pickup truck towing a trailer left one man dead and sent another to the hospital. Troopers from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along FM 2810 in Jack County, Texas.

Police said 41-year-old John Michael Clarke was killed, while Robert Allen was injured when the pickup truck towing a trailer they were in allegedly drove off the side of FM 2810 when it struck a tree stump a short distance off the side of the roadway and rolled. Clarke died of his injuries, while Allen was rushed to the hospital with unspecified injuries after the incident. Officials did not mention any other vehicles in their initial report on the crash.

According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident on FM 2810 is situated in northeast Jack County, which is about 99 miles northwest of downtown Dallas.

Police are still investigating.
