Details:
On or about Wednesday, November 3rd, 2021, around 10:00 in the morning, an accident between a dump truck and a van claimed the life of a 55-year-old man from Wheeling. Troopers from the OSHP said the accident was reported along Highway 250 just outside Bridgeport in Belmont County, Ohio.
Officials said 55-year-old John Santimarino Jr. was killed when an excavator on the back of a dump truck allegedly rolled off the truck and onto Santimarino’s van. Paramedics pronounced Santimarino dead of his injuries a short time after they arrived at the scene of the accident. A passenger in the van was taken to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries. Police identified the driver of the dump truck as 29-year-old Antonio Joseph Michael Cunningham Miller, who was unhurt in the incident.
According to Google Maps, Belmont County is about 120 miles east of Columbus.
Police are still investigating.
