Details:
On or about Wednesday, August 18th, 2021, around 5:00 in the afternoon, an accident between a dump truck and a car left two people dead and sent another to the hospital. Deputies from the Logan County Sheriff’s Department said the accident was reported in the 1100 block of Bowling Green Road in Russellville, Kentucky.
Representatives from the Kentucky State Police said 86-year-old John Walker and 61-year-old Mary Johnson were killed when their car and a dump truck collided under unknown circumstances while driving down Bowling Green Road. Emergency responders pronounced Walker and Johnson dead of their injuries after the crash, while the driver of the dump truck was taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
According to Google Maps, Bowling Green Road runs east and west through Russellville, which is about 25 miles southwest of Bowling Green.
Police are still examining the circumstances surrounding the accident.
