On or about Tuesday, May 31st, 2022, around 1:25 in the afternoon, an accident between a passenger vehicle and a pedestrian left a 26-year-old man seriously hurt. Deputies from the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported along the Marsha Sharp Freeway in Lubbock, Texas.
Officers form the Lubbock Police Department said 26-year-old Jonathon Lopez was injured when he was allegedly hit by a passing vehicle while he was walking alongside or tried to cross the lanes of Marsha Sharp Freeway. Emergency responders rushed Lopez to a nearby hospital where he was being treated for injuries of an unknown nature or severity.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the incident is not far from the exchange with North Texas Tech Parkway.
Officials are still trying to pin down what happened in the incident.
