Details:
On or about Friday, March 4th, 2022, around 4:00 in the morning, a major three-vehicle accident with a boat on a trailer left three individuals injured. Authorities from the DPS said the accident was reported along Loop 289 not far from the intersection with Slide Road in Lubbock, Texas.
Officers from the Lubbock Police Department said 41-year-old Johnny Lemons was injured when an SUV and a van collided with him and his Chevrolet Traverse that was towing a trailer. Officials said Lemons may have stopped to pick up something that had fallen from the boat when the SUV and van struck him and his vehicle. Authorities identified the driver of the van as 33-year-old Bryce Stillwell, and the driver of the SUV as 54-year-old Steven Castillo. Castillo and Stillwell were treated for unspecified injuries stemming from the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is on the west side of Lubbock.
Police are still trying to pin down the circumstances surrounding the accident.
