Details:
On or about Monday, May 16th, 2022, sometime in the early morning hours, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a pedestrian left a 60-year-old man dead. Officials from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along Interstate 20 in Gregg County, Texas.
Representatives from the Texas DPS said 60-year-old Johnny Powell was killed when he was allegedly hit by a tractor-trailer while he was walking near or tried to cross the lanes of I-20. Emergency responders pronounced Powell dead of his injuries a short time after they responded to the incident. Officials did not mention any other vehicles in their statement on the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the incident is not far from Longview.
Authorities are still investigating the accident.
