On or about Tuesday, December 28th, 2021, around 6:00 in the evening, a chain-reaction three-vehicle accident claimed the life of a 63-year-old man. Deputies from the McLennan County Sheriff’s Department said the accident was reported on State Highway 340 Loop in Bellmead, Texas.
Law enforcement personnel said 63-year-old Johnny Ray Caddell was killed when a vehicle allegedly struck the back of another car, pushing the vehicle into the path of a third, oncoming car on TX-340 Loop. Emergency responders pronounced Caddell dead of his injuries a short time after they arrived at the scene. Police did not specify which vehicle Caddell was in at the time of the collision.
According to Google Maps, Bellmead is about 98 miles south of downtown Dallas.
Authorities are still investigating the accident.
