On or about Tuesday, August 10th, 2021, around 10:48 in the morning, an accident between an SUV and a tractor-trailer claimed the life of a 23-year-old man. Officials from the DPS said the accident was reported along the eastbound side of the Houston-Harte Expressway in San Angelo, Texas.
Deputies from the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office said 23-year-old Jonathan Fortenberry was fatally injured when his car allegedly struck the back of a tractor-trailer on in the eastbound lanes of the Houston-Harte Expressway. Paramedics rushed Fortenberry to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on Thursday, August 12th, 2021, around 6:30 in the morning.
According to Google Maps, the Houston-Harte Expressway runs east and west through San Angelo, which is about 211 miles northwest of downtown San Antonio.
State and local officials are examining the circumstances surrounding the accident.
