Details:
On or about Friday, November 12th, 2021, around 7:00 in the morning, an accident between a passenger vehicle and a tractor-trailer claimed the life of one man. Deputies from the Ector County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported at or near the intersection of South 385 and Mercer Street in Odessa, Texas.
Investigators from the Texas Department of Public Safety said Jordan Surber was killed when the car he was driving allegedly struck the back of a tractor-trailer that had slowed or stopped to make a turn onto Mercer Street from South 385. Paramedics pronounced Surber dead of his injuries a short time after they arrived at the scene. Officials identified the driver of the tractor-trailer as William Sissney, who was unhurt in the accident.
According to Google Maps, Odessa is about 138 miles south of downtown Lubbock.
Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
