Details:
On or about Tuesday, April 26th, 2022, around 12:20 in the morning, a serious single-vehicle car accident left a Houston man dead and injured two other individuals. Representatives from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along Hampshire Road in Jefferson County, Texas.
Spokespeople from the DPS said 24-year-old Jorge Baltazar was killed when the passenger vehicle he was driving allegedly veered off the side of Hampshire Road and crashed into a ditch a short distance off the pavement. Emergency responders pronounced Baltazar dead a short time after the accident, while two passengers in the vehicle were treated for injuries of an unspecified nature or severity stemming from the crash.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is about five miles northeast of Winnie.
Officials are still working to pin down all the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
