Details:
On or about Friday, November 19th, 2021, around 8:40 in the morning, an accident at a business between a tractor-trailer and a pedestrian left one individual dead. Law enforcement spokespeople said the accident was reported at a business near 701 Atando Avenue in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Officers from the area said 45-year-old Jose Danilo Guerra-Mejia was killed when he were allegedly hit by a backing tractor-trailer that was dropping off a trailer at the business. Police said Guerro-Mejia may have been removing a device from a trailer when he was hit. Paramedics rushed Guerro-Mejia to nearby Atrium Health CMC where he succumbed to his injuries a short time after his accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance north of downtown Charlotte.
Police are still examining the circumstances surrounding the incident.
