Details:
On or about Monday, October 12th, 2020, a collision between two tractor-trailers claimed the life of a 35-year-old Bay Shore, New York resident. The accident happened at the exchange of Interstate 80 and Interstate 99 in Centre County, Pennsylvania.
Local law enforcement say that 35-year-old Jose Chirinos Ortega was killed when the tractor-trailer he was driving struck an 18-wheeler that had tipped in the road. The rolled 18-wheeler allegedly tipped when it’s load shifted while navigating the turn from Interstate 99 to Interstate 80.
Ortega was pronounced dead from the injuries he sustained when he was ejected from the vehicle in the crash.
Google Maps shows Interstate 99 and Interstate 80 connecting at a “Y” intersection. Centre County is located roughly 140 miles east of Pittsburgh.
