On or about Saturday, June 19th, 2021, around 7:10 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a car claimed the life of a 38-year-old man. Deputies from the Sheriff’s Department said the accident was reported along Highway 15 just outside Booker in Ochiltree County, Texas.
Authorities indicated 38-year-old Jose Rosales was killed when his Nissan Altima allegedly struck the back of a tractor-trailer on the eastbound side of Highway 15. Paramedics rushed Rosales to a nearby hospital before he was transferred to University Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries a short time after his arrival. Police identified the driver of the tractor-trailer as Jacob Neufeld, who was unhurt in the accident.
According to Google Maps, Highway 15 runs east and west through Ochiltree, with the scene of the accident about six miles west of the Booker city limits.
State and local law enforcement are investigating the accident.
