On or about Tuesday, October 12th, 2021, around 9:30 in the morning, an accident between a heavy-duty pickup truck and a tractor-trailer sent a 42-year-old man to the hospital. Officials from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported at the intersection of Interstate 35 and Highway 77 in Hill County, Texas.

Texas DPS Troopers said 42-year-old Jose Sanchez was injured when the Dodge 3500 pickup truck he was driving was allegedly struck by a tractor-trailer that failed to yield at the intersection of Highway 77 and Interstate 35. Paramedics transported Sanchez to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries after the accident. Officials have since charged the truck driver with failure to yield and for driving with a suspended CDL in connection with the accident.

According to Google Maps, Highway 77 runs east and west, while Interstate 35 runs north and south through Hill County, which is about 66 miles south of downtown Dallas.

Police are still investigating the accident.
